House Wren
Troglodytes aedon
Bangor, Maine
This little guy/gal lives in this box next to Lucy's driveway. Here's what she said when she sent the photo in: "Sings all the time. Had me very confused b/c you can see in the photo how yellow he looks on the breast, but doesn’t look that way in the bird book. Or on the fence. An example of how lighting on feathers can do funny things."
They are small, energetic birds that are "distinguished by a light eye-ring and lack of facial striping". [Birds of Eastern and Central North America - Peterson Field Guides, Roger Tory Peterson] Here's a link to their song, https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/House_Wren/sounds.
