Eastern Phoebe
Sayornis phoebe

Thanks to Richard Spinney for sharing this picture which was taken in Essex Street Woods. With the houses and marsh nearby, Essex Woods is a perfect location to see these early migrants.  They typically build their mud and grass nests on man-made structures.  This one was probably foraging for insects. They often return to the same perch while foraging, tails wagging while they work.
