Bobolink Dolichonyx oryzivorus West Penjajawoc Grasslands, Bangor, Maine West Penjajawoc Grasslands is a great place to hear and get good glimpses of bobolink as they mate, prepare nests, defend their territories and fledge young. They have a bubbling song that begins low and ends high. It's hard to explain, you must experience it for yourself! The male has the backward suit on (with the cream colored head) and the female is in the background. Photos by Donne Sinderson |
