The Route: A scenic 28 mile bike ride that travels both sides of the beautiful Penobscot River in a loop beginning and ending at Bangor's waterfront. Riders that prefer a shorter route will have the option to stop half-way and return to the waterfront by shuttle. Who Can Do It: FLB is a ride, not a race. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome. Teams of 3-5 members are encouraged and are a great way to involve co-workers, family, and friends! Maximum 200 participants. What You Get: A T-shirt and celebration at the finish line are just the start. Riders will receive a 1 year membership to the Bangor Land Trust which includes four issues of our newsletter and special events throughout the year. You'll also feel great taking your whole family on this healthy outing. The Cause: Bangor Land Trust needs your support to help ready its lands for public use. Riders are encouraged to get sponsorships. All proceeds will support stewardship of our lands. Support During the Ride: A half-way point water stop, sweeper bike, breakdown van and medical teams will be available. Volunteers will be at road intersections. Can't ride? Volunteer on ride day, call 942-1010. Ride Safely: A bike safety session will be held right before the Ride on the waterfront. Riders must wear helmets and respect traffic laws.
WIN FABULOUS PRIZES! Rules and Regulations for Prize Eligibility PRIZE #1: Will be given to our top fundraiser. Ask your friends, family or co-workers to sponsor you on your ride. The rider that raises the most money will win a prize! PRIZE #2 : Will be given to the owner of the best decorated helmet. Make use of your artistic skills to have the most creative helmet and win a prize! PRIZE #3 : Will be given to the rider that traveled the greatest distance to participate in our road ride. You'll win a prize for going the extra mile!
