Lucy Quimby helped to found Bangor Land Trust in 2001, so that landowners and others who love the land could work together on conservation. She has been on the Board of Vinalhaven Land Trust since 1993. She is a clinical psychologist in private practice and enjoys sailing, bird watching, walking in the woods, and participation in Bangor's civic life. |

Bill Phillips is a software engineer who lives in Bangor with his wife. He has been involved in efforts to preserve those things that he feels make Bangor unique and desirable: its architecture, downtown, city neighborhoods, and natural environment. He wants to continue this through his involvement with Bangor Land Trust. Bill joined the BLT Board of Directors in September 2006. |

Jim was born and raised in Waterville, Maine by parents who grew up in Portland. He holds a B.A. from Williams College, 1963 and a Ph.D.from Harvard University , 1968. Jim was a neuroscientist at Boston University School of Medicine from 1967-1983 and has been a certified public accountant here in Bangor since 1984. He is interested in land conservation, wilderness hiking, birdwatching, botanizing, and the scientific study of lichens. Jim is a Founding Board Member. |

Paul Pasquine joined the BLT Board in 2007. He is Senior Vice President at Merrill Bank where he oversees the Investment and Trust Services Division. Paul holds a B.A. in Economics from Merrimack College. Born and raised in Millinocket, he enjoyed the area's natural assets, hiking and fishing in the Katahdin region. Bangor has been home to Paul, his wife Karyn and their children for nearly thirty years. They enjoy hiking, cross country skiing and fly fishing in the area as well as spending free time at their camp on Ambajejus Lake. |

Brian is the Plant Manager at Casco Bay Energy and holds a BS in Marine Engineering from Mass Maritime Academy. Brian has traveled and worked extensively abroad and enjoys both the challenges and rewards that are part of working in a diverse environment. Beginning with annual family camping trips at age 1, Brian developed an early appreciation for the state's resources and considers it an honor to serve on the Board of the Bangor Land Trust. Brian enjoys all outdoor activities with his two sons. |

Dick is a retired biology professor from Dixmont who enjoys biking, hiking, and kayaking. He has served on the board of several environmental organizations for the last 30 years. As a biologist, Dick views with concern the destruction of habitat for our fellow creatures on the earth. As an educator, he takes pleasure in helping other people understand the processes that makes life on earth so fantastic. Like most people he is spiritually nourished by natural areas and sees it as a privilege to use some of his energy to protect them. Dick is a Founding Board Member. |
Kathy Billings |
Kathy Billings is Vice President of Corporate Relations at Bangor Hydro Electric Company. She has held various positions at Bangor Hydro including Director of Environmental Services and Compliance. Prior to joining Bangor Hydro, she worked at the Hancock County Planning Commission as a community and land use planner. Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in behavioral science from the University of Maine, Presque Isle. She is a member of the Eta Class of Leadership Maine and has served on various local and state boards and committees, including the Advisory Council of Eastern Maine Community College, the Bangor Regional Development Alliance, and the Maine Rural Partnership. She presently serves on the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board. Kathy lives in Bangor with her daughter Molly. She joined the BLT Board of Directors in October 2008. |

Fred Costlow lives in Bangor with his wife Regina and daughter Rachel. Fred graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor's Degree. He returned to school years later and obtained a Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School as well as a Master's Degree in Environmental Law with a specialty in land use planning. Fred is a partner in the Bangor/Portland firm of Richardson, Whitman, Large and Badger and has an active trial practice. Fred provides legal representation to environmental groups and served on the Bangor Planning Board. The Costlow family loves the outdoors, gardening, and working on their wood lot in Carroll, Maine. Fred joined the BLT Board of Directors in September 2006. |

Karla Gustafson |
Karla Ingrid Gustafson was born in Boston, but considers Maine to be home. After receiving a BS in Biology (marine emphasis) from California State University, doing graduate work in Limnology at Uppsala University in Sweden, and receiving an MS in Zoology from the University of Maine, she held several posts including USFWS biologist, primate rehabilitator, animal welfare educator and activist. Persistent questioning of the inter-relatedness of life on Earth and the responsibilities that inter-relatedness engenders led her to return to academics. The subsequent exploration of "the duties of faith" resulted in an MDiv from Bangor Theological Seminary, an MPhil from Union Theological Seminary, and a PhD in Ethics from Union Theological Seminary. She currently resides in Bangor with her two dogs, James and Msabu. The three enjoy exploring the woods and waters of Maine. |

Caroline is a Research Associate and Lecturer for the University of Maine Dept. of Resource Economics and the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center. She has an M.S. in Resource Economics from the University of Maine. She is involved in a variety of research, but enjoys focusing on environmental education, environmental psychology/marketing and community development. Caroline joined the BLT Board of Directors in April 2007. |
| Dave Thompson | Dave is a retired Forester and Saw Mill Manager. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Forestry from the University of Maine. He is a lifelong hunter and fisherman, and is a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Association, Maine Audubon, Orono Land Trust, Bangor Land Trust, and the Tennessee Squire Association. He is active in Town affairs as the Chair of the Orono Tree Board, Orono Trail Committee and a member of the Orono Planning Board. In his retirement he has worked in various capacities to improve the environment through proper management of our natural resources. He lives in Orono with his "boss"of almost 50 years, Patricia, who helps him in most of his endeavors. |
